The leading diabetes research organization announces partnership with the leading producer and innovator of great-tasting stevia sweeteners for the global beverage and food industries
Chicago, IL – July 30, 2019 – The Illinois Chapter of JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, announces a partnership and “I’m The Type” campaign with PureCircle, the leading global stevia producer. PureCircle supplies great-tasting, next generation stevia sweeteners to food and beverage companies, enabling them to use a plant-based sweetener in their low- and zero-calorie products.
The “I’m the Type” campaign encourages individuals to customize their “type” and to spread awareness about the need to drive T1D research forward while celebrating the inherent strength and resilience of individuals affected by T1D.
PureCircle is a new partner to the JDRF Illinois Chapter, the largest JDRF chapter in the United States. CEO, Magomet Malsagov was recently appointed to the JDRF Illinois 2019-2020 Board of Directors, and will help make a difference in the lives of those with T1D. Products sweetened with PureCircle’s stevia sweeteners give consumers healthy choices and can help T1D families lead healthier lifestyles.
“The race to end T1D is a marathon, and teaming up with companies like PureCircle helps us continue to build awareness of type 1 diabetes, raise much-needed funds to support the ongoing research, and offer our constituents education and options regarding how to make healthier choices for their entire families” explains Mimi K. Crabtree, Executive Director for the Illinois Chapter of JDRF.
“PureCircle is eager to help make a positive difference in the lives of people living with type 1 diabetes,” said Magomet Malsagov, CEO of PureCircle. “We’re proud to support JDRF and its efforts to turn Type One into Type None.”
About PureCircle
PureCircle, the world’s leading stevia producer and innovator, has overcome the past challenges facing stevia leaf sweeteners: taste, supply and cost. The company’s next generation stevia sweeteners, like Reb M, have a clean, sugar-like taste. And PureCircle has ramped up its ability to supply the next generation sweeteners in the large supplies that food and beverage companies require – and cost effectively to them. That means food and beverage companies – seeking to reduce added sugar and calories — can offer consumers zero- and low-calorie products, sweetened with our plant-based, non-GMO sweetener.
